How do I back up and restore my website?

We run automatic daily backups of every account, retained for 7 days (30 days on Pro and Business plans). To restore from these backups:

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Go to Files → JetBackup 5 (or "Backup" on older accounts).
  3. Choose what to restore: Full Account, Files Only, Databases Only, or Email Accounts.
  4. Pick the date you want to restore from, then click Restore.

To create a manual backup before making major changes:

  1. cPanel → Files → Backup.
  2. Click Download a Full Account Backup — this generates a complete .tar.gz file you can save locally.

For databases specifically, cPanel → Databases → phpMyAdmin → Export gives you a .sql file in seconds. We strongly recommend taking a manual backup before plugin updates, theme changes, or PHP version upgrades.
